078 – One-Line Story

  1. Stand in a circle.
  2. One person starts by saying a dramatic, imaginative opening line, for example: ‘it had been 10 years since we had seen each other’, ‘I opened the suitcase and couldn’t believe my eyes’, ‘what was that noise?’, ‘It was a day like no other’. Avoid vague openings like ‘once there was a man’.
  3. Going around the circle, the group takes it in turns to add the next line of the story, building the drama and developing the plot.
