- In groups, decide on an event (such as a birthday party, a carnival, or a wedding etc.)
- Create a list of what is needed for this event to be successful. The list does not have to be a literal list of products but could be a list of attitudes, such as teamwork etc. This list can help in creating a script.
- Then, think of an obstacle that jeopardises the event. Use the shopping list as a script to react against the obstacles.
- Now repeat the same steps above for a theme that you are discussing.
Example: You’re in the JobCentre to find a job. Your list may include, having an ID, queuing up, being punctual and polite, taking a ticket, being patient, etc. The obstacle might be language barrier. What do you do?
