046 – Count to 20

  1. Sit or stand in a circle. The group counts to twenty, one person saying one number at a time. Anybody can start the count.
  2. Then, a different person says the next number. If two or more people happen to speak at the same time, counting must start again from the beginning.

a. Try doing it with and without eye contact

b. Try with everyone facing outwards and closing their eyes

c. Try counting back from twenty to one.

Notes: It is valuable to perform this exercise with eyes closed. It allows the participants to open and explore other senses, other ways to experience the world. Relying on sound requires extra concentration, therefore motivating the participant to listen actively and be present in the space.
